    Default Carrying at work

Just wondering how many of you carry at work? And how many of your co-workers/bosses know you carry.

It is against co. policy where I work. But there seems to be a lot of people there who does have a LTCF. I don't know if they keep one in their car or not.

I work for the Navy in Philly, so I can't legally carry there as it's federal property. But, most of the people I work with know I always carry, and I can't ever remember anyone caring one way or another. I do get questions about it, so I always have a few of the pamphlets from here in my desk to pass out.

Above are two threads on the subject for your perusal pleasure.

I personally can't carry at work due to company policy.
However, there are two of us who carry when off the clock & we are also both members of this forum as well. There is one other associate who plans to carry when he turns 21.
About half the staff owns a firearm:

At least 10 of us have one or more firearms in some capacity:
Of those, 2 carry, one has guns & will carry when he is old enough, one has a 9mm she's never fired, one keeps his guns at his parents so his kids won't get into them, one has a shotgun kept at her boyfriend's place with his guns, two are sisters who have a "gun nut" father who has guns for them but neither of them have ever used them to my knowledge, one has guns at the parent's place but lives with an ex felon & "can't have a gun in the apartment" (per the boyfriend), and two are ex military who's husbands are both still active military & have guns... of the last two one has a gun in the house & the other won't let the new hubby move his gun in because she has a small child.

(the no guns with kids in the house BS is their thing not mine... don't get on me about their misconceptions or failure to teach their kids about guns! I've tried to educate them, but they don't want to hear it.)
(The one with the excon bf wanted to get her LTCF, & he had a fit! I showed her info that stated that she could have a gun in her place if she kept him from being able to gain access to it, etc and expressed to her that it was her choice if she wanted her LTCF not his, but he's one of those kind of guys who can't have his woman free to do something he can't do & he's got a tight grip on her sooooo...)

Of the remaining associates we currently have:
two are new & I have no idea concerning their views on guns.

one is an anti who denies she's anti because her boyfriend is a cop... she says she has nothing against people owning guns... in talking with her on the subject however, it seems she just thinks they should be locked in a safe at all times & never be used in any capacity other than strapped to her boyfriend's hip & those of his fellow officers while they're on duty.

one has asked me about Glocks because he was thinking about getting one, but went with pepper spray instead.

two more are not against guns, but don't personally own them

The remaining three I have known for years, but the subject never came up, so I really don't know their feelings on the subject.

Let us never forget the sacrifice of those who have fought for us all.

Regardless of company policy, the only time I don't carry is when there are metal detectors or when a gun is a danger to the work environment. For example, being surrounded by tanks of boiling hot oil, acids, corrosive gasses, places where you can't even use normal flashlights or plastic packaging wrap due to sparks and static discharge.

Carrying pepper spray instead of a Glock... not a good idea.

I cc to and from work, but can't carry while working as the U of Penn owns the building, and firearms/weapons are forbidden in any structure owned by the school.
