    Default XD45 and PT1911 refinished

I finally got my KG Gunkote delivered to me today, so I decided to refinish the XD and PT. It started to rain hard this afternoon, so I ended up doing the refinishing job in my bathroom. Everything went smooth, until I had to reinstall the night sights on the XD. The rear sight was simple, but the front sight caused a scratch on the right side of the slide. I will be calling KG in the morning to see if they have a touch up kit.

PT1911 was done in Titanium Gray with black on the small parts.

    Thanks.

I just get tired of everything being black, so I need to add colors to my collection. I find black to be boring.

I'm getting my PT1911 (as soon as I get it) somewhat of a khaki slide color, and khaki gunner grips.

Yes, the Taurus logo is still on the slide. Only way to truly get rid of it would be to remove some metal on both sides of the slide. It doesn't stick out like it did before, so I'm happy with the results.

Nice work! The PT1911 looks really sweet, and I'm sure it'll hold up much better now than it would with the standard blued finish.

Whatever Taurus uses for their finish is junk. I'm not 100% satisfied with my work from yesterday. I should have just done the XD yesterday and save the PT1911 for the weeekend. I'm just too darn impatient.

The look fantastic Aubie, wish that I had the patience to do something like that. Maybe one day... BTW Glad to see you back and posting, I was beginning to worry.
