    Default We know what the 2A means...

    This may be a touchy subject, but I'll try to explain it the best I can.

    We all know what the 2nd Amendment is for, to protect ourselves from tyranny. But when tyranny comes knocking at out door, (warrentless IRS raids etc...) why is it not ok to shoot back?

    We understand what it's for, yet we let horrible atrocities happen under our very noses.

    Why is this so?

    Consider this excerpt from the Declaration of Independence:

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.
    At what point do we fight back? What abuses are sufferable and what evils are intolerable? I don't have an answer to these questions. To a certain extent, I think that it is an individual choice.

    I'm done for the day. I might have more to say tomorrow.

    The answer is that while you've seen trouble, you've not yet seen tyranny. The founders gave us the means to secure a revolution, but made the penalty for it treason for good reason, they did not want to give mob rule the tools to overpower the constitution....you only take up arms as a last resort. We're not there yet, not even close.

    What NineseveN said is very true.

    As for the OP, well, I will tell you what, anyone kicks in my door, if my firearm is handy, I am shooting them.

    There are laws against insurrection...that's why it's not OK to shoot back. The personnel who actually perform the raids are, in some form or another, law enforcement. They don't make the laws, but it's their job to enforce the laws. They're the wrong "target".
    It's more important to ensure unconstitutional bills never get to the law stage. That's why you need to be politically aware.

    If it came to the point the 3% had to do the deed, it's unlikely democracy would survive, no matter which side won.

    "Its too late to fix the system, but its too early to shoot the bastards."

    or so the saying goes.
    ==============
    “If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”
