Default Calling all WWII German pistol collectors!!!!!

I have a good one here I think. A buddy of mine has a Deutsche Werke Werk Erfurt in 6.35mm and he's missing the magazine. I've looked on the internet but I have had very little luck. Can anyone tell me the history of these pistols, the approxomite value ( the gun has a brown patina to it with no blueing left, but there is no pitting anywhere on the gun and the barrel is in good shape) and where I can find a damn magazine. I did a real quick look at is this morning, but he is bringing it in later today so I should have more info on it later. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try searching for "Ortgies" pistol parts. That is a more common name for this pistol in this country.

I used to own one and was able to purchase a "generic" aftermarket magazine for it, so I know they were made.

These are really well-made pocket guns from the pre-WW2 era. .25 ACP was a pretty popular in those days and the Germans made really good ones.

    Good luck,

I bought a nice one in the condition that you describe at Gander Mountian for 150 about a year ago.
I never shot it but I traded for another gun about 4 months ago.
Mine did have the aftermarket mag so I understand it was not worth top dollar.

Aah yes the Ortgies. I have one in .380. Great little shooter. As stated above, Google for "Ortgies" and you will find all the parts you need. As for the value, that depends on the condition of course. It can go anywhere from $100 all the way up to about $500 or more depending on condition and caliber of the gun. I snatched mine up for $100 dollars at a gun show. It was in pretty bad condition but I got parts for it and fixed her up. Also stated earlier, there is certainly a procedure to for takedown that needs to be followed and it can be a PITA! but once you do it a few times its no big deal.

If you need a firing pin, try Midway. I go a repo on there for mine. Not sure if they have one for a .25 but they may(I don't believe they are the same with the .25 as they are with the .32/.380. Check out Poppert's for any other parts I think he should have a few. If that doesn't find you what you are looking for, hit the gun shows. I know a couple guys at the Greensburg show always have parts for these guns. You will find them for sure.

    Good Luck.
