Default short OC story and a shout out to Tanner's in Bucks County

I got a call today that my new M1A rifle finally came in after 6 months of waiting. I went to pick it up right away. I walked into Tanner's, in Jamison, Bucks County, and was OC'ing. A customer asked if I was a cop and I said 'no' and he questioned me about carrying openly and I informed him that it was legal in PA and he said, with a slight attitude "since when." That is when one of the employees (not the owner) stepped in and started to educate the customer on the law and how open carry was legal. The reason I bring this up is that we have all heard stories of gun shops where employees have no clue about the actual gun laws (not to mention any names-Targ*t Wor*d.) There were 3 guys working the counter and every one of them new the law. While I recommend people get legal advice from lawyers, it is nice to see that people who sell guns know the laws of the state. The more I deal with Tanner's, the more likely it is that I will not deal with anyone else but them. Also, as an FYI, the M1A was about 100.00 cheaper than any place within driving distance.

    "since when"

    LOL

OC was never unlawful in the Commonwealth (minus Phila/w-LTCF, yada yada)....

    Ok, continue

So I guess that means since PA became a Commonwealth.

We spent about 10 minutes explaining the carry laws to him. I had taken the car to pick up the rifle insead of the truck, which is were all the flyers were. I just printed some off to put in the car so I have them wherever I go.

Nope, before it was a commonwealth it was a colony, and before that it was just an unclaimed tract of land where people lived and OC was already legal then. [sage nod]
