Student Fires At Teacher, Turns Gun On Himself
    15-Year-Old Taken To Hospital
    LAROSE, La. (AP) ―

Authorities say a student shot himself in the head at a Louisiana middle school after he fired at a teacher and missed.

Sgt. Lesley Peters, a spokeswoman for the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office, says the student shot at the teacher Monday inside Larose-Cut Off Middle School. He then went behind a stairwell and shot himself.

She says the student has been taken to a hospital.

Peters says the school about 45 miles southwest of New Orleans has been locked down. She says all other students have been accounted for.

Sheriff Craig Webre says he believes the student is 15 years old. His name has not been released.

The shooting is still under investigation.

Clearly this story is a lie.

Schools are gun-free zones, and as such, guns are not allowed there.

just more evidence that "gun free zones" are not really free of guns...and don't work.

Wow, 15 years old...crazy world out there. He got lucky though, teacher did not get hit and he must've got a bad shot on himself if he didn't die from the gunshot...

Well, specially, the actor isn't OK, he's dead. But all innocent's are OK and that's what matters.

Crazy stuff. I'll bet he was on Prozac or similar.

Also, I love the concept of a "school lockdown". "Fish, stay in the barrel!"

Got a source for that? All the information I could find is that the kid is listed in critical but stable condition at both the first hospital he was taken to (Lady of the Sea General Hospital in Galliano, Louisiana) and the subsequent hospital he was transferred to (Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma, Louisiana).
