My New Sig
Picked it up from my FFL last Friday, here are the pics...
It came in the cutest little blue Sig Sauer box:
It's small!
Size comparison to my P6:
And again:
And again:
After holding the P238 all weekend, the P6 felt massive in comparison:
I haven't had a chance to shoot her yet but so far I'm very pleased with my purchase.
The gun is small but feels substantial due to the almost all metal construction and comes with typical Sig construction quality.
The SAO trigger feels GREAT, as good if not better than the Accutrigger on my Savage 12BVSS rifle and the nightsights work great.
It's small enough that I could put it into my shorts pocket without printing though I will need to find an IWB holster for it for normal carry.
The only gripes that I have with it is that the trigger is made out of plastic[???] and the grips are not aluminum but plastic. I knew that my gun would not look identical to the gun on the Sig website since I got the P238 off of GunBroker[I called Sig CS to ask why and I was told that the first 1000 guns shipped with black plastic grips] which I'm ok with since I'd like to replace them with wood Nills grips or something equivalent once they start offering them.

Re: My New Sig
Congrats!
That's the first P238 I've seen on the street.
Make sure you give a range report after you get some rounds through her.

Sweet, she looks real nice. If I come accross any more ammo for her I'll let you know.

Re: My New Sig
I was drooling over the P238 the other day while reading Combat Handguns. The MSRP made me pull a face, but I'm sure you get what you pay for.

Re: My New Sig
i bought a p238 sig sauer in st. louis for $625-maybe a little steep, but you get what you pay for. i've only shot 25 rnds through it but no ftf or fte. the pistol has great sights for a small gun and recoil is minimal. i got a hume iwb holster for it ($42 with mailing). the gun i have has rosewood grips and is a very nice gun. i also have a s&w 38 638 revolver, but the sig is much more comfortable to carry
