Re: Favorite 30-30 bullet weight for white tails
I used to shoot 170's I think.
I've switched to the 160 grain Hornady LeverEvolution and the performance and accuracy is outstanding, I'll never go back to round ammoThe first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.
Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

Re: Favorite 30-30 bullet weight for white tails
I shoot a Savage 340 bolt action .30-30, Winchester 94 .30-30, and a H&R Handi-Rifle in .30-30 and they all shoot a much tighter group with the 150s than any other round. Also, when I tried running the Leverevolution through these rifles I found that they group terribly. Not that yours or you will not shoot well with the Hornady ammo but all three of mine do not like that load. The Federals grouped like shit too. I actually hand load for them now but before I was doing so the best thing going for my guns was Remington 150gr Core-Lokt.
