A Butler man was arrested early Friday morning for pointing and discharging a handgun.

City police say 42-year-old Charles Norris III of Butler was arrested on multiple charges after they received a report of a drunk man with a pistol in open view in the area of the General Butler Bridge. Police investigated the area and the officer on duty reported seeing the weapon's laser sight on their vehicle. The officers gave pursuit to Norris in the area of Coal Street, but he later surrendered to police. Norris' wife told police after he was arrested that he had jumped from her vehicle earlier that evening on Pittsburgh Pike and fired two rounds in her direction, but they did not strike her or her vehicle.

Norris was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, making terroristic threats, and reckless endangerment. He was arraigned on the charges before Magisterial District Judge Pete Shaffer of Butler.

This guy is fairly lucky to be alive. It's safe to say he won't legally own another gun...

Chuck Norris doesn't commit aggrevated assault with a deadly weapon...he IS the deadliest weapon of them all and sees no need for any assistance.
