Renewing your CCW Permit

Anyone know what the guide lines is for renewing your permit? Here is my situation. I lived in Huntingdon County the last time I delt with my permit. I currently live in Centre County, but probably closer to Sheriff's Office in Huntingdon County than Courthouse in Centre County. Do I have to renew in Centre County since I live there or can I renew in Huntingdon County???
Help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

You must apply/reapply in the county in which you currently reside.

§6109. Licenses.

(a) Purpose of license.--A license to carry a firearm shall be for the purpose of carrying a firearm concealed on or about one's person or in a vehicle throughout this Commonwealth.

(b) Place of application.--An individual who is 21 years of age or older may apply to a sheriff for a license to carry a firearm concealed on or about his person or in a vehicle within this Commonwealth. If the applicant is a resident of this Commonwealth, he shall make application with the sheriff of the county in which he resides or, if a resident of a city of the first class, with the chief of police of that city.

No assiness inferred. The difference is that the Pennsylvania license is called a license to carry a firearm (LTCF). We make a point of calling it by its correct name to minimize the propagation of the folklore, “If you have a license to carry (or whatever other name the uneducated choose to call it), you must conceal.” This absurd piece of fiction has been used even by uneducated law enforcement officers to harass citizens for carrying openly, a completely lawful activity.

The license to carry a firearm grants you six privileges:

• You may carry concealed on or about your person outside of your abode or fixed place of business (read, “in public”).
• You may carry (in any manner) in a vehicle.
• You may carry (in any manner) in a city of the first class (read, “Philadelphia”).
• You may carry (in any manner) during a declared state of emergency.
• You may carry (in any manner) in a Gun Free School Zone, which is anywhere within 1000 feet of a school.
• You may carry concealed in a State Park.

The license to carry a firearm does not in any way prohibit one from carrying in a way that does not require a license, and it covers much more than just concealed carry. This is why we like to point out that the ‘C’ in “LTCF” does not stand for “conceal.”

Others may have some different motivations, as well, but this is the primary motivation for me.

Seven: it is legal for a friend to lend you a firearm if you have an LTCF.

Yes, Pennsylvania has only one document that is similar to other state's CCW permits, concealed carry license or whatever other name they use. Ours is called a License To Carry Firearms. We sometimes use the accepted abbreviation LTCF also. We should never call it any kind of permit, since it reads right on the document itself:
