Exclamation WHAT ??!?! Wisconsin Courts say Cops can mount GPS trackers on ANYONE 'S Cars !!!

    WTF ?!?!?!

Is Wisconsin racing to catch the People's Socialist Republic of New Jersey in police State tactics ? This shit is getting fucking scary !!!

MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin police can attach GPS to cars to secretly track anybody’s movements without obtaining search warrants, an appeals court ruled Thursday................................As the law currently stands, the court said police can mount GPS on cars to track people without violating their constitutional rights — even if the drivers aren’t suspects.......................................... ....
Officers do not need to get warrants beforehand because GPS tracking does not involve a search or a seizure, Judge Paul Lundsten wrote for the unanimous three-judge panel based in Madison.

That means “police are seemingly free to secretly track anyone’s public movements with a GPS device,” he wrote

I guess they will be tracking me to the local sewer...
    How's that for tracking?

They should put them on the policecars, too.

...and those being tracked can simply remove them.

This is very scary (bolded parts), I am not a criminal so I should have nothing to fear right? Whats next, no cops, just GPS recievers on the car... you get a speeding ticket in the mail??? This is just wrong on so many levels.
When you are called a racist, it just means you won an argument with an Obama supporter.

Well, yes-- that's exactly what's next. A lot of politicians are already proposing this shit. I think it was Oregon that was considering mandating GPS be installed in all new autos sold in the state with an eye to just that.

Just sweep my car every week and then attach them to any police cruisers I see.

Most GPS units need a clean view to the sky (unless they're extremely expensive) Anyone who is looking for one can easily find it..

Now Radio transmitters are totally different.. But thats not GPS.

    But oh ya..

SERIOUSLY F'd up.. However, it is debatable if it's constitutional or not on this specific amendment. What SHOULD happen is that their state legislature realizing that this may be a problem/loophole pass an pass (and quickly) that forbids this type of action. It's how it's supposed to work. However, that's not how it does.. /sigh

It is scary. Can the non-evidence gathered be used against you in a court of law? I'm for anything that makes my job easier as long as it doesn't come at the cost of liberty.

I think it is to pave the way to get deeper in our pockets. I'm sure most of you heard about the taxes based on the mileage you drive. They have to track it somehow.
