Default New Hampshire carry license... how long did it take?

For those of you who have your N.H. Non resident pistol/revolver license... How long did it take to get it?

My check was dated Jan 30 and mailed a day prior to that. They just cashed it on May 6.
I had heard that they were backed up a bit but WOW!

Just curious as to the experiences of others in this area.

It took mine more than a month, but about a week after the check was cashed. Expect yours anyday now. BTW, do a search and you'll find a thread with many more answers to your question from other members who got theirs.

They just cashed mine as well, and I sent it in late January too.

I think they are just REALLY backed up.

Yes, they are quite backed up. There are several threads on the topic here on the forum.

A point of curiosity on the NH permit:

    Background:

See this post linked here... in short, for many months the wording on the NH police website mistakenly claimed the nonresident permit was only valid in NH (presumably when said nonresident was physically present within the borders of NH).
    http://forum.pafoa.org/532843-post-25.html

    Update:

After months of inaction as far as their website goes, I noticed today that they recently got around to changing the misleading wording... (with the text boldened below), to wit:

PLEASE NOTE: Concealed handgun licenses issued by the State of New Hampshire to out-of-state residents are ONLY valid within the State of New Hampshire or within a state other than the licensee’s home state that reciprocally recognizes New Hampshire nonresident concealed carry licenses.
Looks like they FINALLY corrected their original mistake of stating that the license was ONLY valid in NH...

BUT... (there always has to be an 'oh-by-the-way')

Now they curiously mention "other than the licensee's home state"... as if the NH nonresident permit would not be recognized in PA if you were a PA resident.

Sigh... I think they still got it wrong, because PA (being a reciprocal state) would/should recognize the NH nonresident permit within PA borders by a PA resident, technically-speaking.

Or are they making the assumption that, since the nonresident permit from NH application demands a home state permit in order for the applicant to be issued a nonresident NH permit, that said nonresident NH permit is moot within the applicant's home state?

    UPDATE!
NH License arrived in today's mail!

Issued 5-04-2009 and valid until 3-31-2014!

I thought they were a four year license but this one is good for 4 years & 10 months. I'm not complaining, just surprised.

    From the NH law:

    Saf-C 2102.04 Expiration of License.

    (a) A license to carry pistols or revolvers that is issued in accordance with RSA 159:6 and these rules, shall have an expiration date of the later date between the following:

    (1) Four years from the date of issue; or

    (2) The last day of the month of the fourth anniversary of the license holder’s date of birth following the date of issuance.
    Does #2 match your situation?
