Post Belding & Mull powder measure

How do I stop the handle from separating from the linkage? When the handle is thrown to the right it tends to drop down with the weight of your hand, causing the post on the other end to come up out of the hole that connects it to the linkage arm. I am not a reloader yet but would like to get this one I inherited from my dad working. I've read that this measure is one of the best, but looks like bad engineering to me.

I’ve done a few of these and your comment about bad design is correct. The problem is that B&M used a non-standard shoulder bolt and a cross screw to hold the bolt in place. My normal fix is to ream (and sometimes bush) the pivot hole, install a new shoulder bolt, one that tightens completely, with one or two Belleville washers between the shoulder bolt head and the rotating plate.

If you are not up to modifuing it try the strongest Locktite. I use mine on BP and I just love it.
