    Default Powder Measure

    Looking to upgrade my powder measure I have the lee perfect powder. Finding out the more I reload and the more picky I get this is not consistent at all. Maybe I got a bad one but it is off. I also find myself using my Turret press which is lee with the auto index off and doing it as a single press. so looking for a powder metering dispenser which is the best and the most accurate. Redding and RCBS seem to have the best reviews but as always will turn here for honest feedback before I do buy one. I have a extremely accurate scale so I need the one that dispenses the same load most consistently. The lee is not the answer. To OCD.

    What are you loading with the Perfect Powder measure? Have you tightened or loosened the screw? Have you taken it apart to clean the wiper?

    I find it to be VERY accurate once I have it dialed in. Powders like Titegroup and Win231 leak. Even so, it still is very accurate for me.

    I also like the Perfect Powder Measure. The most accurate measure I have used.

    I also like the Uniflow by RCBS but I use mine for ball powder only. For extruded powder I have a old B & M Visible measure that is very accurate. You can still find them at gunshows for around $60. Just make sure that you get the tube that adjusts for the different powders weights. There is a chart that tells you what number to set the tube for what powder weights. That can be a little difficult to find but if you find the measure I can help you out with the chart.

    I use a Uniflow from RCBS for normal use and the Uniflow and scale when I want dead on. I've never found a powder measure to be prefect 100% of the time. For that, you need a scale.

    I have three powder dumps, 2 lee, and a hornady LNL with 4 miter inserts I use the lee for pistol and the hornady for rifle, the pistol, I am not that concerned about dead on accuracy. Even the Hornady is not dead on every time. Its close but I still weigh every Rifle load and top it off with the trickler. Different powders will measure differently in different dumps. You may try making a baffle for your dump. Sometimes this will get you within a grain plus or minus.

    I use a Lyman DPS1200, VERY accurate, and consistant.
    I only use it for loading rifle, as I load pistol on the progressives. The Lee measures on the Pro 1000 seem to be accurate enough for me.

    As for the Lyman;
    Once it's zeroed, just set the charge Wt., and hit the button, keep hitting the button for additional charges.
    I use mostly Varget, and 4064, and it throws +/_.1 gr. consistantly.
    It wasn't cheap, but then I did con my daughter into buying it for me for my birthday.

    I'm certainly a Lee fan but I could never get the perfect powder measure to work worth a damn. I use either the RCBS Uniflow or the Charge Master 1500
