Old, senile(?), and pissed so if this has already been posted please forgive me. Just got my retirement pay notices reflecting the new withholding rates. At this new economic stimulus level we will have to come up with somewhere between 3 and 5 thousand to pay our income tax. One of my checks withholding went down by 90% creating a shortage in our paid tax.
Take a look at your own pay slips and make sure that HE is not stimulating the economy at your expense.

Pennsylvania has two witholdings on my paystub and the company that does our payroll apparantly doesn't have me listed as an employee.

I haven't received a "normal paycheck" in awhile since opening my own business.

Which ones are you talking about specifically?

I knew who would pay the bill but changing the witholding and not the tax rate will really bite you come tax time. I maybe wrong but I think that is what they did.

Well, we got a 10% reduction in pay about the same time as the new withholding went into effect, so I have no idea what is correct and what isn't.

I do know that I now make less money, and prices of everything are still going up.

The withholding rates were lowered so we all got extra money in our paychecks. For most it ends up to be about enough for a bagel and coffee. So BO looks like a hero.

What nobody realizes is that he never changed the rate tables that dictate how much you actually owe. So, you get less taken out each paycheck, but will have to pay it back at the end of the year.
