Talking Question on Transfer Through a FFL (Update)

...yes, another newb post from, TheFighter88:

On a transfer from an out-of-state dealer, they take a percentage to do the transfer and PICS check, right? Any idea how much I should expect to pay or who takes less money for a transfer around here?

I'm right by downtown Uniontown. So, Woodlands World is probably an option, but my guess is they're going to be pricier than most. Just doesn't seem like the kind of place I'd want to do business with either, but I could be wrong.

So, any recommendations for a FFL to do a transfer through (as opposed to a purchase from them)?

I haven't heard of any stores taking a percentage to do the transfer and PICS check.

Usually a flat rate. Call around and ask them. $25 is about the average, but some charge a lot more especially if you're not buying the gun there.

    Check with

    Pennsylvania Police Supply
Rte 40 E (on the mountain)

Just got off the phone with "The Officer's Store?" (They kept calling it that) - Pennsylvania Police Supply, and they said they don't do transfers anymore. It sounds like they used to charge $30 for a transfer, but it never quite covered the amount of work they do for that transfer.

    So... any other suggestions?

Just got off the phone with Woodland's World... just for info's sake, they said they'll do it for $25.

I guess I'm going with Woodland's World... unless someone has a suggestion???
