    Default PT1911 Torture Test

Here is a cool video of Nelson Uygongco firing a Taurus PT1911 continuously for 10 minutes (900 plus rounds)

There were a few FTF's but I think they were caused by limp wristing and ammo problems. Maybe a couple mag feeding problems. over all, I think the gun did quite well!

    After 900 + rounds:

Oh. I got a little confused. I saw PT1911 torture test, thought maybe it was an insight to Taurus' customer service.

That really sucks what them cheap plastic grips did to his hand.....

I think Para did that before shooting 10k rounds through something or another without stopping once

    Exclamation Re: PT1911 Torture Test

I dont like the FTFs, That's too many.
Even the Colt 1911 went something like 30K rounds without any issues back in 1913. Almost 100 years later and Taurus still hasent caught up to a 96 year old design.
    Sorry.....
I have many 1911s and after 1000ds of rounds through some ugly beat up Colts and some new ones, I've seen case mouths dented shut and still no malfunctions from the 5" models...
I am sorry to see that they just cant get it right.
I bought this pile for 50 bucks last year

The slide was rusted so bad it had a crack straight through, But the rest of the parts assembeled well enough, And I popped a slide on it that I had laying about (cold blued), And I took this heap out to the range.

I ran a couple hundred rounds through it, This is the one that dented the case mouths shut till I tuned the extractor,,,,
All 200+ rounds fed and fired 100%,,,
The gun goes to the range with me often for friends to shoot, No effect from "limp wristing"\
    It just plaid old runs.
Mabey I should send it to Taurus so they can study it.
    I should also add,
My buddy can shoot this thing way better than me, He can hold 2" groups at 50' with it.
I cant, But he's a better shooter than me!

Gloves would have been a good idea.

At least Taurus was ballsy enough to let this out on the web. The honesty is refreshing in that compared to a Para, the Taurus needs some work

when you fired your colt did you fire them rapid fire like the taurus? I can't imagine how hot that gun was. I'm pretty sure that you could take any 1911 and you would have a couple. This is all speculation though because we don't have the rounds that FTF and we don't have the mags.

I wonder why his hand got so messed up. Todd Jarrett fires 1,000 rounds through a stock Para 1911 in 10 minutes in a video series on www.downrange.tv and he doesn't have that happen to him. . . weird.

Ah, look at the way his hands hold the gun in the video. When he is letting his left trigger finger fire the gun his right trigger finger that is so bad swollen and burned is riding just slightly below the slide and gets quite hot. If I was to guess about the spot between the thumb and the index finger it will either be him holding it to close to the top but my guess would be it having a shitty beavertail and that hogleg was just rubbing its ass off the whole time. The same about the little bit of rubbing on his middle finger, the trigger guard just rubbed and rubbed....
