922 question on folding-stock for WASR-10
I wanna get a Romy side-folder for my CIA WASR-10-- will this be 922 compliant? Currently it's a wood stock.
That and any recommendations for places online or off to look for a Romy sidefolding stock on the cheap?

Re: 922 question on folding-stock for WASR-10
the wood buttstock is not one of the compliance parts, so changing it for a folder will not change your status. century sold a bunch of romy folder wire stocks at 4/$100 a year ago. wish i had bought a batch, as the price now is about $60 when you see them.

Re: 922 question on folding-stock for WASR-10
I'm pretty sure that the wood stock that came with my WASR-10 is a U.S.-made compliance part. It's definitely not like any other Romanian stock I've ever seen. WMMV, though. CAI doesn't stamp or mark all their compliance parts, which makes things more difficult.
If the stock that came on your rifle isn't imported, you'd have to replace some other part with a U.S.-made part before you could install another imported part. A muzzle brake, gas piston. . . something.Removed NRA Life Member pic. LaPierre and Chris Cox are ruining NRA.

Re: 922 question on folding-stock for WASR-10
the wood stocks on the WASR are Romanian. your good to go with the folder.
the US parts on a wasr-10 are. (you need 6)
the FCG (3) gas piston(1) pistol grip (1) muzzle break (1) or some will have a muzzle nut spot welded on, then only 5 parts are needed as the barrel is no longer considered threaded.

Ah but changing out a non-folding buttstock to a folding buttstock without playing the parts game? Sounds like a non importable status.
Think about it, how many Tapco folders have you seen on WASRs in the stores compared to the Romy wirefolders? The resident Saiga snob

The rifles come into the country with a fixed stock, 10rnd capacity
Century opens up the magwells and plays the parts game to get them legal to take hi-caps. I'm thinking that adding a folder would be another "evil feature" and therefore you have to make sure your 922r compliantThe resident Saiga snob
