Default Probably the Dumbest purchase i've ever made... But its fun :D

This thing has been taunting me for several months on the used gun rack at Bob's Army Navy (Clearfield)... So i finally gave in and bought the damned thing.

Its a Mark VII Desert Eagle in .44 Magnum Used, but in outstanding shape. I'm unsure how many rounds went thought it, but the polygonal rifling is sharp and shiny. Now i wait for MRI to send me the "Tune-Up Kit" so i get all new springs.

I've always wanted a D.E. even though they rank 0 on the practicality scale. But i'll give it a 10 on the fun scale, and maybe 11 for the "random zombie attack weapon" scale

Yeah. You got the awesome look, and don't have to deal with the recoil. Pretty hard to turn one of them down I think.

Heh i'd love a .50 AE. I can convert mine to .50 AE but that requires upgrading the slide/bold assembly to the current Mark XIX Config. Which won't be cheap. But then again if i wanted to downgrade to a .357, i still have to do the same upgrade since they do not make Mark VII parts anymore. (Bolt parts and frame parts are the same as the XIX so I still have plenty of parts available. Just not the Mark VII barrels...)

    Not dumb at all!

The 44 DE's been on my recreational gun-buy list for years. I've used them before and the only two gripes I have are the expensive mags, and the jacketed bullet requirement. Not deal breakers, and a fine pistol to shoot.

44 mag is a very practical size (MUCH cheaper than 50) while still having a lot of power. Your gun is exactly what I would have chosen.

    Congrats on a fine purchase!

I had two of those through the years a .357 and .44 magnum. You will find that at the range you will get a lot of looks shot your way. They are great guns to shoot just keep up with your spring kits. Good purchase.
