Default 1rst I was "made" now I'm told to cover up .....

Earlier this week I was "made" at my local grocery store (CLICK HERE)

Well tonight I went to Citizens Bank Park with my wife to see the Phillies play the Padres. A guy I work with gave me a couple tickets, 400 level, great FREE seats along third base, top of the stadium. This was my first visit to this ballpark, it opened in 2004, I had attended many games at it's predecessor, Veterans Stadium, just hadn't gotten around to this one yet. I worked on tearing down the old Vet and paved all the parking lots around the new stadium, Lincoln Financial lot's too, home of the Eagles, another stadium I haven't been in yet.

Anyway, I make it thru the ticket takers area, where if you had more than just a t-shirt on they gave a loose pat down. Not knowing what to expect and having taken the train to the game, I wasn't packing, I wanted to see the game from inside. On my way to where my seats were, I stopped at each level and looked at the field, nice stadium. It wasn't until I got all the way up top, at my section, the guy who directs you to your seats told me I couldn't go in like that, I would have to cover up or turn my shirt inside out. "You're kidding" I said, no, we've been told to look out for those shirts. I had my wife give me my sweatshirt and I covered it up and said, "Oh, I see, it's ok for the ball player to say on live TV but I can't wear it here, so much for free speech."

For those of you who may not know, the 2008 Phillies won the world series. During the celebration the next day each of the ball players were saying thanks and whatnot to the crowd. Chase Utley got to the podium and said "World Champions, World Fucking Champions" My shirt says World Phucking Champions, with Phucking spelled in the font the Phillies use, see below.

Oh yea, at the section my seats were in the folks right there that saw the whole thing were all in favor of my shirt, including those with LITTLE KIDS, OMG.

So there ya have it, in one week I was made AND told to cover up.

    Bill

this is not me but is an exact copy of the shirt I have

.... at the park they have these people running around taking photo's of everyone in hopes that they'll buy stuff with the photo on it. I just found the one they took of my wife and me with the "the shirt" showing, purposely of course, hehehe

    Hey sober

Just a thought. Is that an official Phillies shirt. They sold it to you but you can't wear it to see the phillies.

wearing a shirt with profanities is protected speech, just so you know. some municipalities have tried passing ordnances against "vulgar" language, and have failed. a woman in Scranton was cited for using foul language, and the case was thrown out. she sued the police dept., and won.

still, i would have told you to cover up, too. go Yankees!
