Pickett Encourages Second Amendment Proponents to Attend Rally

State Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna) recently announced the Fourth Annual Right to Keep and Bear Arms Rally, which is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. in Harrisburg on Tuesday, April 21, and is encouraging area residents to attend.

“Americans are granted rights by the U.S. Constitution—the supreme law of the land,” Pickett said. “Government is not empowered to change that fact, and it’s time citizens remind those who seem to have forgotten. Our constitutional right to keep and bear arms is a key component of that document and deeply intertwined within our nation’s history.”

Several nationally recognized speakers are slated to attend the event and include best-selling author Stephen Halbrook; Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America; and John Sigler, president of the National Rifle Association.

“Banding together at this rally will help raise awareness about the ever-present efforts taking place to strip our right to bear arms,” Pickett added. “Law-abiding citizens should not be penalized for the actions of the few who choose to illegally use weapons.”
