Gun clubs/hunting associations near Plum/Monroeville area??
Hey, I'm looking for an inexpensive gun club/hunting club for my father-in-law. He will probably only get out to shoot a few times a year, when my brother-in-law or I are in town so I'm looking for something to join pretty cheap. Facilities don't have to be very nice, just a simple pistol range, outdoors is fine.
Anyone know of anything in the Plum/Monroeville/Murraysville area?- I support Israel; "If guns kill people my pencil causes bad spelling."

Check here: http://www.pmsconline.com/
Ignore if it says "sponsorship required", "new members must attend monthly meetings"
We have dedicated plate racks on the pistol range and gongs on the rifle range.
$100 to join, $60 annual dues. It's pretty nice, but it's not a country club. Check out one of the group shoot threads, this is from last sundays shoot:

Re: Gun clubs/hunting associations near Plum/Monroeville area??
Anyone know of anything else a bit cheaper? I'm really looking for more of a "sportsman's association" than a "range". The PMSC option is not ideal because I'm looking to get a membership for my FIL but most of the times that he'd be going he'd likely be taking by SIL's husband and I with him, which wouldn't be allowed by PMSC's rules. Also, it is a bit steep to pay since we're only going to be getting there maybe 2-3 times a year...

Re: Gun clubs/hunting associations near Plum/Monroeville area??
Hi Roland,
So I can ignore the sponsorship / monthly meetings statements? Nice! We moved to the area a half year ago and when we narrowed the area we'd likely buy a home in to a reasonable drive from PMSC I tried to get to a monthly meeting to join. I've had three months in a row where I had to do something else on the night of the meeting and, finally!, I could keep the first Wednesday in December open. Ah, oops, the meeting this month is the second Wednesday when I have to be back in New Hampshire for a few days... Can I just mail in the application without listing a sponsor? (Or, as Mr. Rodgers used to say, "Would you like to be my friend?") :-)

Hey. Yeah, don't worry about the sponsorship or making it to the monthly meetings. You can print out the application and just mail a small photo of you and your check to Kenny, and he'll send your membership card. There is an additional $10 fee for the gate access card you'll need to send. But that is good for 20 years. If you have any other questions, just pm me.

I got my membership card and now I just need to work out the details of getting the gate access card. See you guys at the range!
