Scope & Mount

So, I would like to put a scope on on my M44. I don't know alot about scopes but I do know I do not want a LER scope. Also I think the best way to go with the mount would be one of the one's that gets screwed to the side of the receiver. Does anyone have an opinion on the best way to go with this? Thanks.

I put an ATI drill and tap scope mount and bent bolt handle on my 91/30. It works fine, but I don't like the way it looks. If I could do it again, I would get the bent bolt body (sniper reproduction) and a POSP side mount. POSP scopes can be removed and reinstalled and hold their zero. They are reasonably priced and high quality. You can get them in 4x, 6x, 8x. There are also variable power ones. Plus, the range finder in the SVD/PSL scopes work for the 7.62x54r round.

If I bubba up another one, I would go that route.

you can also do a scope mount from S&K where it replaces the rear sight. No permanent modification necessary.

Just get a long eye relief (aka scout, aka pistol) scope.
