Carrying at Harrisburg Airport
I've never been to the Harrisburg airport, but have to pick up my mother-in-law there in the morning. Has anyone carried there before? What is the layout of the place? I'm pretty sure I won't be going into any of the secure areas just to pick someone up. I would be carrying concealed. I tried the search with no luck.

No specifics on Harrisburg Airport, but, as long as you are not in the secure area, (need ticket to even get in there... you would know right away if you were going into it...TSA all over the place) you should be good to go.

I agree. I sometimes work in and around Philly airport and often CC in the non-secure areas, which would include ticketing, baggage and parking areas. You can legally walk right up to the security checkpoints.
I've only been to HBI once. It's a large single building with 2 floors. The security checkpoint is on the second level. As I recall, there's a couple restaurants pre-security, including a McDonalds.

As long as you don't go into a secure area, carry away.

HIA: baggage claim is on the first floor. Arrival passengers will exit to the street upon getting their bags. No need to enter the airport at all.

Re: Carrying at Harrisburg Airport
I carry at HIA everytime I go there, it is very obvious where the secure area is: the second floor past the rocking chairs and McDonalds, as previously stated the baggage check is on the first floor outside the secure area.

Re: Carrying at Harrisburg Airport
You'll be fine carrying in the general open area of the airport where the baggage claim is and where you'll be seeing off/picking up your relative.
The way security is setup, only passengers with tickets can go through the checkpoint, so you won't need to worry.

Re: Carrying at Harrisburg Airport
Well, everything went fine. That is a nice little airport. Not near as much crap to go through as BWI. Thanks for all the advice.
