ranges in the area
I live in C-burg and was wondering if anybody knows of some ranges in the Scotland, Caledonia, Marion, C-burg area. Joining a club (Fish & Game,Rod & Gun...) is also something I am interested in. I am aware of Shooters Delight for pistols, but I also have several rifles. A club with pistol & rifle ranges would be perfect!

Re: ranges in the area
My dad and grandfather are life members there. I've thought about it, but was looking for something a little closer. I have friends that are members at the Shippensburg F&G. That's a real nice facility. But, again looking for something a bit closer. Thanks for the thought!

Re: ranges in the area
If your familiar with the Caledonia area at all, there is a free range up on Birch Run Road on the mountain. You have to get a permit at the DCNR office which is just past the light in caledonia on the left if your heading towards Gettysburg on Rt 30.
They have a pistol and Rifle but make sure you bring something to put your targets on. It's a little worn but it suffices quite nicely.

Re: ranges in the area
There is also a range named "Frontier (something)" on the SW side of C'burg. 200 yard rifle and a nice pistol range. 3-4 miles out of town, I think. Nice range, well maintained by the members.

That's the black-powder club, just a half-mile down Jack's Mill Rd, off of Warm Spring Rd.
I don't know any contacts for it though. You could check with Jim Cullers at the "FT.Chambers Gun Shop", across Black Gap Road from the Chambersburg Mall. I think he is a member there, maybe an officer.

BTW, AJ, the St. Thomas range is about ten miles out from the center of C-burg.Last edited by Flash; October 10th, 2009 at 10:25 PM.
