Default Holster choices for a Glock 21

I am looking for a holster for a glock 21. This will NOT be used to CC (because the glock is a bit to big), but will be taken with me while I bowhunt, hike, etc. I am looking for somthing that can be worn on the hip outside of the waist band. I've heard good and bad on Blackhawks, that is what I was thinking about purchasing, but since this will be worn mostly outdoors I was looking for something that will completly cover the gun to keep it protected from dings and scrathces while moving through brush and what not. Any input would be helpful and appreciated.

Get the Blackhawk. Its good but cheap. Just keep your shirt over the gun if your worried about scratches. If you really need more of the gun covered just get a cheap nylon rig with thumb break. They are about 15 bucks and would suit your purpose just fine.

You are worried about scratching or dinging a Glock with "brush"? Do you sip white zinfandel while your pinky is extended too? Just kidding of course.....mostly. I doubt you could damage a Glock much while taking it hunting unless you plan on rolling around in a creek bed where rocks would be.

Also, you would be surprised how easy it is to conceal a Glock 21 with the right holster, especially in cooler months when layers can be used. Check out the DeSantis scabbard style belt holster that you could use for dual purpose carry.
You can never have enough horsepower or ammunition.
