    Default bending a hammer

i recently aquired an old damascus sxs 12 gauge. left barrel works fine, the issue is the right. pictured is the issue. it looks as though the whole thing was dropped at some point and the right hammer (pictured) doesnt stay cocked anymore (insert penis refrence here). its rubbing up against the stock, which i can see cause theres a mark on the stock where it makes contact. out of the stock, it works fine. so, should i remove wood from the stock, or should i go with my origional plan and try and bend this back into shape? were i to do what i had planned on holding it in a vice, heating it with a sodering torch, bending it, then letting it cool slowly. is this the way to go? or is there another way to go/better way to cool the metal. also, it looks as though someone hammered a bit on the other side, or removed a bit of material, though im not sure why

first of all that gun might not even be safe to shoot.
it needs looked over by some one that knows what they are look at/for.

    as for the hammer.
    bend it cold.
had an 1873 springfield that had a simular issue. worked out just fine, and now it functions as intended.
it's only metal, we can out think it....

If it doesn't stay cocked, then I'd say the best course of action is to fabricate a new hammer from scratch.
