Default My Dad just surprised me....

He called me up today and said he just got out of the mandatory weapons safety course in order to get his license to carry down in Florida. I had no idea he was doing that so I almost had a tear in my eye when he told me. He said he didn't know if he was going to carry all the time, but he wanted the option to carry if he so wanted to. Way to go Dad.

Thats bizarre, my old man just suprised me with the exact same thing today!!! He spends winters in Naples, Fl and I guess he decided he wants the option to carry as well. I've taken him to the range a couple times, he's not anti, just never shown much interest either way. It pretty cool though, i have always gone to him for advice and help, now I get to help him out a bit and get proficient in something I happen to enjoy. Plus I get to help him pick out his first gun!!

My dad is 62, but you're catching up..lol. I asked him what kind of gun he was thinking about getting for carry. And being a wheel gun man, he said something about a .38...blah ...blah.... So I sent him an email suggesting that he get a .357. He can shoot .38 at the range and put .357 loads in when he is carrying. I was excited to send this type of email to Dad. It's always nice to have something like this in common with your dad.

My dad tried to get a license back in the early 70's. Back then you had to be finger printed. Anyway they denied his reasons for wanting to carry. I guess he found out the laws changed at some point and he got his when he was 60.
Tell your dad, good deal. Buy him a nice cc holster.
