its all numbers, every number you pick adds up to the answer. i've seen it used in other situations. one of the smarter members will explain it better..

whenever you take a 2 digit number and subtract both numbers the answer is a multiple of 9. ex 37 - 3 - 7 = 27 , 23 - 2 - 3 = 18 - 55 - 5 - 5 = 45. Now if you look at the answer sheet every number that's a multiple of 9 has the same exact gift. So the answer will always be the same regardless of what number you choose.

I looked for the mathamatecal answer also, bud could not find any. The resultant numbers are devisable by 9, as rhino noted. but the gift are not the same for every number. keep looking.

Almost, Mark. Actually, the magic number is 9. Every number divisible by 9, (9,18,27,36,45,54,63....) has the same 'gift'. The site just shifts the 'gift' every time you play.
