    Default Australian Arms M10 "Enfield Mk5 Jungle Carbine" wannabee in 7.62x39

    FYI;

    Robinson Twp Gander Mtn has one of these, very nice gun; dark gray phosphate, takes AK mags.

    Nice idea, but wish it were a .22LR, but I'm sure it was on the drawing boards back when 7.62x39 was cheap...

    Looks like a creative way to recycle old Enfield actions, but $700.00 is a bit rich for yet another 7.62 plinker. Gotta admit it - if this were an SMLE, I'd have money down on one..

    Did some more digging in the hopes of finding a new-ish SMLE at the end of the rainbow, found this instead;

    http://www.australianinternationalarms.com.au/

    Looks like these are ALL NEW PARTS, and not re-habbed Enfields as I first thought.

    Guess if you just have to have a NEW Enfield...

    I'm probably going to e-mail them and remind them that .22LR would be nice, and so would an SMLE. Just leave off the bayo-lugs and it's importable!!

    It's a neat looking carbine, but I'd never spend $700. on one even if AK ammo was cheap.

    I just ran into one of these things up at the Gander Mountain in Dickson City this evening.

    I think I'm truly in love!

    18" bbl. 20 round mag. 7.62x39.

    Maybe it's just because I'm a walking anachronism but I'm seriously jazzed about this rifle.

    Only thing I can say negative about this rifle is that the peep sights could have been a tad bigger. (But then again, I don't like peep sights) That and it was $700 more than I have at the moment.

    I think it'd make a wonderfully short rifle for hunting deer and bear in heavy brush. No real difference between this and a Ruger Mini-14 except that I could hunt w/ the M10 in PA since it's a bolt action.
