Shotgun for HD
Im a shotgun newb, My dad got a Mossberg 500, he offered me because he doesnt use it. He doesnt have the 18.5" door breaching barrol with it, that I would like to have. ( I would use this is a HD shotty.) An it doesnt have a pistol grip, Just a normal stock. Anyone know where I could get a HD barrol an a pistol grip for a reasonable price? An what the best Load would be for HD out of this gun?

Call Trop Gun Shop in Elizabethtown. They may have stuff in stock and if not, they might be able to order it.
I just got a tactical stock for my 870 a few days ago. $60.

I have not seen the breaching barrels for sale anywhere, but you could call Mossberg.
As for other accessories, I was just given this link by another member.
there are some good links for shotgun accessories..

Lop of the end of the barrel, (18.5" please) and mount one of their breacher/brake/hiders and your good to go for less than the cost of a new barrel.
They have some nice stuff but arent talked about much here.

Re: Shotgun for HD
I was thinking about just trading his mossberg in for a 500 tact. cruiser. Is there much of a difference between the two? Worth trading + cash. Or do you think I should just buy the barrol an pistol stock?

Re: Shotgun for HD
Well, I think of it this way. I could have a brand new one, with a bit more cash. That has the barrol I want, along with other better features. If I would go get a barrol, get the gun finished an get the stock. It wouldnt be much cheaper

Re: Shotgun for HD
Call me crazy, but I'm sort of old school and sentimental with guns. Wouldn't that make your Dad feel pretty crappy if you got rid of the shotgun.....He GAVE to you?
