    Default problem Anaconda?

I'm told that some of the early model Colt Anacondas had really bad barrels.

I'm buying one on gunbroker and the seller doesnt know the date of manufacture but he gave me the serial number MM01597

While for some dumb-ass reason I cant find ANY info on-line about
Colt Anaconda serial numbers, Ive seen some folks posted a few with their dates of manufacture.

proofhouse (or whatever its called) does NOT carry info on the anaconda.

Those posts lead me to believe that this IS a very early model.

Does anyone know ANYTHING about how many of these bad guns were made?

I do NOT want to spend 800 bucks on a defective Anaconda.

The first link has no information other than the fact that a problem existed, and is in fact one of the very places that I heard it.

The second link is dead and goes nowhere....

I'm told that the ONLY info they will provide is the date of manufacture.

The date it was made wont help me unless I can also find out the date range that the defective ones were manufactured. Even better would be the serial number range.

I cant find any document anywhere that has that info, which strikes me as extremely bizarre.

I haven't really heard of any problems to be honest. The only thing I have ever heard was that 1990 & 1991 were bad years, but I'm not sure why...might have been a bad batch of barrels or something. My Anaconda is a 1993 and seems fine!

Bad barrels seems to be the consensus.

My fear about this one is based on the fact that it has a very low serial number (MM01597)which leads me to believe that it was made the first year
