Since when is being on the right considered being racist
I hate that if you are right wing nowadays you are auto labeled as being racist. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Rebublican. There used to be a point in the south that you had to be democratic and in the KKK to be elected. I was searching for info about Poplawski and came across this.

I don't think they are naming his political affiliation as the reason he is racist. I think they are saying his affiliation with Stormfront and his personal beliefs are racist.

Poplawski also believed in conspiracy theories espousing beliefs that a secret cabal running the United States was bent on eradicating freedom of speech and gun rights at the behest of Jews, a friend told the newspaper.

Re: Since when is being on the right considered being racist
I've been on boards before where being in political disagreement with someone, especially the basic "conservative/right vs. liberal/left" conflict, was enough to pick up whatever it was of which they wanted to accuse you. If you disagreed with a Jewish person, you were an anti-Semite, and if you disagreed with an avowed Creationist type, you were a baby killer.
Unfortunately, most boards wind up becoming echo chambers, because many users aren't looking for opposing viewpoints. Instead, they're looking for confirmation that their ideas are correct. Anyone sufficiently in the minority on a given position, absent absolutely excellent moderation and self-control on the part of the community, winds up a piņata — or worse.

Since when is being on the right considered being racist?
Probably since about when being on the left is considered being a pot-smoking communist who spends his days plotting to take everyone's guns and kill their babies.
It's a common tactic on both sides for those who don't have the ability to debate issues properly.
In this case, though, I don't see it being used as a stereotype. White supremecist groups do generally fall to the very right of the political spectrum, at least in the way that the majority of people categorize left/right, and just as groups advocating worldwide communism fall to the very left of the political spectrum.Safety is a good tool for tyrants; no one can be against safety.

Hell, turns out I'm racist just because I don't support B-diddy. I never knew until an obombie called me a "racist cracker" because I wouldn't take his messiah pamphlet. My black friends were shocked

Re: Since when is being on the right considered being racist
I was accused of being racist by one member here for my anti illegal immigration views.
I dont care if yer from russia/china/japan/canada/white/black/latino... if yer an illegal, leave or be arrested and deported.
the very fact that the issue seems to focus around mexican/latin american illegals meant that I hated all latinos.
