    Default Controlled Burn at Scotia

I was out to the range around 12:00 today and there were signs up about controlled burns and it had dates of when access would be denied. Anyone know any info. about this? I didn't really have much time to talk to anyone so I didn't get any extra info. In fact the sign just caught my eye and it really didn't occur to me what it had actually said until I was driving back to work.

Ah yes, the controlled burn... when someone is insulted, but not all at once.

The "burn" didn't start today. There is a period of time that they have allotted to do the burn which is scheduled to take one day for burn, one for mop up.
When they get the ideal conditions they will announce 24 hours in advance and then have the burn, one can figure that access will be denied at that time due to hazards associated and the need for traffic for forestry and the company doing the burn.

It has been said that they plan on it taking 2 days, with that said they will NOT do a burn on a friday as it would then go into saturday and consummate a ton of OT for the staff working it. With that said the burn will then start on a monday through thursday and take that day and the next. Baring any horrible problem or out of control weather it will be done and we can go about our merry business.

That being said, I have nothing to do with the controlled burn and only speak of my experience of controlled burns and information already posted reguarding this controlled burn. With my experience in the outdoors through boy scouts and other adventures wild areas need to be burned off in a controlled manner every once and a while otherwise nature will burn it off and create a MUCH larger, MUCH more dangerous forest fire.

ok, have fun and go shooting everyone!
