Re: Castle Doctrine HB 40 in 09 does anyone REALLY want this passed? If so please re
First off, thank you and congratulations to everyone here. We should all be proud of our efforts in getting this passed. Many of us, myself included, are new to making ourselves a thorn in the side of our elected officials, and it's been a pleasurable experience.
I watched the live feed today as the bill came to vote...Evans and Thomas need to learn how to lose with some dignity and grace. They made a mockery of themselves, the House, and their constituents. I would be absolutely ashamed if I had one of them as my Rep.
As everyone else has said already, time to start hounding the Senate. With only three days left on their calendar for the year, it's imperative we get them to move on this. We have a long road ahead to get this passed, but we have to remain optimistic and vigilant.

Senator Wayne Fontanna has an office less than 5 minutes from my house. I think i'll stop to see him or at least find out if hell be in that office before the 12th. Anyone know if he's on our side in this? Or if he usually is?

Re: Castle Doctrine HB 40 in 09 does anyone REALLY want this passed? If so please re
I don't think Rendell will sign it, but I also don't think he'll veto it. He has a limited amount of time to veto the bill, or he can speed it along by signing it; if he does neither, the bill becomes law with no further action, it just takes longer.
This was written into the Constitution (ours and the US) in order to prevent an executive from holding a bill hostage."...a REPUBLIC, if you can keep it."

Re: Castle Doctrine HB 40 in 09 does anyone REALLY want this passed? If so please re
Folks, I'm gonna close this thread since the effort in the House is complete (for now, and hopefully, for good), and I'm going to ask that we continue the conversation in the newly created Senate thread, which is here:
http://forum.pafoa.org/political-138...ne-senate.html
and is also linked to the banner announcement above. This will give everyone who wants to catch up on this thread and the House effort thread a chance to do so, and separate the Senate efforts.
UPDATE:
One last thing, WhiteFeather wanted to make a post before I closed this thread. He wanted to make sure he thanked all the Representatives that in the end stepped up and voted for HB40. I would like to again encourage everyone here to do the same and make sure to thank the Reps, so that they know their efforts are appreciated. WF's message follows:
