I need help
I just received a muzzleloader kit from my son in law as a gift. It doesn't come with a manual. They tell you to send for a book, which I did. I've never handled a muzzle loader before and I don't know where to start. Does anyone know of someone I can get to help me build it or build it for me. It cost 700 dollars and I'm afraid I'll ruin it. I will be happy to pay for help.

Re: I need help
The best piece of advise I can give you is take your time. All most all of the kits out today are pretty straight forward. The barrel should fit in to the stock smoothly. If you have to file on the dove tails to get the sights to fit do it slowly you want the sights tight so they will stay in place.
Have fun if you start to get frustrated it is time to walk away for a while.I always stressed to my son"one shot one kill that was all that is needed". When He came home from Marine Corp Boot camp He was telling me about the Marines stressing "ONE SHOT ONE KILL" He looks at me and the light bulb went on Dad was now a whole lot smarter than he was 13 weeks ago.

I don't know what the difference is, but the one I have is a Hawken, full stock flintlock.
