No citations for giving the finger to police, judge says

I think a better title would have been, "Cops Do Not Know People's Rights."
The case will now proceed to trial in U.S. District Court on the underlying claim that the city doesn't adequately train its officers to know when they're violating someone's rights.
The Supreme Court has consistently ruled that giving someone the finger, even a police officer, is protected free speech.Last edited by addicted2freedom; March 25th, 2009 at 09:37 PM.

Just be ready to appeal the initial ruling...trust me, I know. Local fire chief cuts me off on the highway - then slams his brakes - I flip him off - He flashes his badge out the window - I flip him off again - He follows me while on the phone with the police - cops pull me over - "disorderly conduct" - judge agrees - $25 fine
