Glock .45???
Thinking about getting a Glock full size .45, but I've seen that police depts. have done recalls because of the .45 exploding in the hands of police officers. This was a few years back, but its got me wondering. Has anyone heard of this happening recently. Also any feedback/input on the glock's .45 full size pistol would be apprecitated. I already own a Kel-Tec P11 and a glock 22 but Im looking for something a lilttle stronger. Highly considering the Glock .45.

Re: Glock .45???
I am a Reserve Deputy Sheriff and carry a G21SF in 45ACP. My gun has never blown up and it completed the MPOETC firearms course without any problems.
It is a great gun to shoot, but it is a big gun and I wouldn't want to conceal it. If you're OCing it then size wouldn't matter.
I have actually gotten so accustomed to it, I rarely carry my SIG 220 anymore. And I've purchased a G33 for CCing when off duty.
I should be at the next group shoot in Pittsburgh, you're welcome to shoot a magazine or two through it."Having a gun and thinking you are armed is like having a piano and thinking you are a musician" Col. Jeff Cooper (U.S.M.C. Ret.)

You bet!
Well, I couldn't stand it any longer. I won a Glock 21 (standard size) on auctionarms.com . It's NIB for $472 + shipping.

Re: Glock .45???
Never had a problem with mine. One potential source of "Kabooms" with all Glocks is the continued use of lead roads WITHOUT cleaning both the chamber and the polygonal rifling. Running a lead remover metal gauze and then a few patches after each range session avoids this, or purchasing a regular rigled barrel from a variety of suppliers also avoids the problem. NOte this is the case with ALL GLOCKS with the factory barrel. Dave_n

Re: Glock .45???
What you're thinking of is the .45 GAP guns. It wasn't the faut of the gun (just like most kabooms) but rather a bad batch of ammo.
Like Dave said the Glock .45 is a good gun but if you have small hands it'll feel like a brick. I'd fondle one first before you decide if it's right for you.

Re: Glock .45???
Have had my G21 for about 15 years now. It's my OC gun. It is the most reliable firearm I have ever owned. I've put thousands of rounds of lead reloads through it. Just cleaning it after every use has worked well for me to keep it running strong.

Congrats on the G21. I got a G21SF recently and I'm in love.
