    Default DCNR needs to update?

    From the website. http://www.pa.reserveworld.com/cancel.aspx

Weapons: Possessing an uncased device, or uncasing a device, including a firearm, archery equipment or slingshot, that is capable of discharging or propelling a projectile is prohibited. Such items may be present only when cased and in the owner's vehicle or trailer with proper permits/licensing to carry.
Can some one with good writing skills contact them to update their website?

    link from dcnr's actual website:
    re: http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/statepar...rulesregs.aspx

The rule and regulation still exist... It's just preempted by state law now.
This is partly why we cannot OC in state parks yet... because it's not preempted.

Use extreme caution with firearms at all times. Other visitors use the park during hunting seasons. Firearms and archery equipment used for hunting may be uncased and ready for use only in authorized hunting areas during hunting seasons. In areas not open to hunting or during non-hunting seasons, firearms and archery equipment shall be kept in the owner's car, trailer or leased campsite. The only exception is that law enforcement officers and individuals with a valid Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms may carry said firearm concealed on their person while they are within the park.

I bolded and underlined for standout.......almost all individual state park websites have this paragraph in it. I don't think you have to worry about the other - they just haven't been updated yet....
Hey, and they actually call it by its proper name ... License to Carry Firearms... and not gun permit or concealed weapon permit or one of the other wrong names that others (including some PA sheriffs) use...

Yeah, the only problem is that the law is not limited to "Pa. LTCF holders." It applies to "any licensee", which according to my understanding of (n), would include reciprocal license holders. The odd thing is that those who are exempt from licensing are left out completely (except for law enforcement officers which are covered under (1)).
(m.2) Inconsistent provisions.--Notwithstanding the provisions of section 7506 (relating to violation of rules regarding conduct on Commonwealth property), 75 Pa.C.S. § 7727 (relating to additional limitations on operation) or the act of June 28, 1995 (P.L. 89, No. 18), [FN3] known as the Conservation and Natural Resources Act, and regulations promulgated under that act, a firearm may be carried as provided in subsection (a) by:

    (1) a law enforcement officer whose current identification as a law enforcement officer shall be construed as a valid license to carry a firearm; or

    (2) any licensee.

(m.3) Construction.--Nothing in this section shall be construed to permit the hunting or harvesting of any wildlife with a firearm or ammunition not otherwise permitted by 34 Pa.C.S. (relating to game).

    (n) Definition.--As used in this section, the term "licensee" means an individual who is licensed to carry a firearm under this section.

Nearly all the DNCR lakes and reserves I went to right before and since the change have new signs and placards with the new guidelines.

Somerset Lake(Somerset Co) and Kyle Lake(JeffCo) were both posted to allow those licensed under 6109 looooong before the new state law even got close to passing either house.
