    Default Bindon aiming

well Trijicon with the ACOG specifically refer to this.
I gather that it is supposed to be that both eyes open your non-magnified eye is dominant, and then when you stop moving the magnification should switch over?

what about when you are cross dominant (like me) ?

I have a 4x cheappo on what is now my lil'sis's rifle and when I try it I can see the crosshairs with both eyes open but it seems my L eye is in focus? I havent tried it at the range yet, will those crosshairs be on target?

If I close my left it seems like the hairs are a bit lower on target then where they where before.

    pros? cons? your experiance?

I use that technique with my lit reticle scope. It's harder without something to draw the eye and help you superimpose the reticle over the target. The lit reticle is what makes it easy. The brighter the better for learning.

It isn't the movement that does it....it's more of a shift in focus where you get better at in time from relaxing both eyes to bearing down with the scope eye. Sometimes I find myself squinting the non scope eye when I'm shifting the focus. A bit harder with high magnification.

A good, consistent cheekweld is important and make sure the scope is set for parrallax or any shifting will cause problems.

I have no idea about the cross-eye dominant effects.......

how does it look at close in targets?
or, would you keep your focus on the no-magnified eye and you can still see the crosshairs? Am I explaining this wrong?

I'm cross dominant as well. If it would work it's a great idea, but my eyes are all goofy....

I see the crosshairs superimposed on the target in close....they are a bit blurry, but Illumination is what helps most. BAC is not easy to do without the illumination.

need to get back out to the range.........

using lil'sis's 4x illuminated it seems to working well.

I told lil' buck I what I have been thinking (ACOG) and he gave me the crazy eye "you could buy an AR with how much those cost!"

    lol
at least he didnt break it down into how many mosin's that would be! he has been known to judge value by how many surplus rifles something is worth
