Default I'm really afraid to fire my weapon because,,

I can't replace the bullets. I have searched the net and can't find ammo out there. This is really scary. .45 cal is only available in junk brands, and only limited amounts are out there. They probably won't let you fire it at an indoor range. The other caliber I may need is not to be found (not that I need another caliber :-} ).

Being an old head re-entering the weapon arena, I find it amazing that there is this much of a shortage of ammo. It certainly sends me a message. I bought some Winchester WinClean a couple of weeks ago and it's all gone the next day or so when I try and order some more.

I would like to go to the range and sharpen my skills,,,,, but,,,,,,,,,,,, the freekin ammo supply is so weak,,, that I fear to even try and do that as it'll waste my limited supply. I don't have an evil black weapon,,,, just run of the mill stuff.

Friends thought I was crazy for selling a couple of my semi-autos. I explained that I wanted to consolidate my guns to only a few ammo types for this verry reason. I sold off a few and used the money to buy a bunch of ammo while I could. I'm glad I didn't wait any longer than I did.

Ive been seeing ammo back on the shelves. Dicks was pretty well stocked last week and I kinds wish I would have bought more, but Im only buying what I shoot so as to do my part and end the artificial shortage. Hell, my local shop has AR's when I go there now. . .

    I hear ya'.

I've found myself shooting my .22 more, and my (insert every other firearm I own here) less... much less.

    Two reasons:
    (1) Hard to find the ammo in stock to replace that which is being shot.
    (2) Can't friggin' afford to replace the other stuff even if I can find it.

I haven't bought ammo in a while, it's weird, I guess the higher prices didn't slow down buying very much during the frenzy so some supplies are lower. I predict a glut in the market in the semi-near future for both guns and ammo, but that's just me.

Absolutely! I know a lot of folks picking up .22s these days. I have a Savage semi-auto but I want to sell it and just pick up a Ruger 10/22 so I can buy a nice pimp kit for it and plink a lot. Those things are like Hondas. They are the ricer base of the gun world. Dress it up like an MG42 if you want. Underneath it still has little power but it is reliable and saves you money.

Same with me here for the .22 almost as much fun...almost, but lots cheaper, and 22lr is still readily available so i have really no regrets wasting it. and it also helps with your skills overall

I went to the range yesterday. Shot 3 mag's worth of .40 just to keep the skill up since its my carry weapon and a bunch of .22lr. I had some .223 stuff with but decided against shooting it.

We had a horrible time getting .45's last week for a friend. He wanted to go to the range but hit 3 places before we got enough ammo to make it worth while. Hopefully the market catch's up. People cant afford to keep buying stuff up like this.
Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom.JFK
