    Default This is my rifle...

...there are many like it, but this one is mine.

Last week I ventured up to the CMP North Store with my dad, uncle, and step-brother. Overall it was a great experience made even better by being there with family. I came home with what I was after: a service grade M1 Garand. The receiver was manufactured by Harrington and Richardson in 1953. All but a couple parts are also built by HRA. My gas cylinder lock is an IHC, and according to the very knowledgeable staff at the CMP, my trigger group is a WWII-era SA. On with the pictures...

I bought mine with out ever firing one before. Will never forget loading my first clip, placing the stock into my shoulder and squeezing the trigger. There is NOTHING like the sound and feel of an M1 Garand on the range. I couldn't imagine being on the receiving end of that weapon. Enjoy the gun AND enjoy the history of the M1 Garand.

Damn I gotta get one of those!! Is that in shootable condition?

Got me looking at the CMP website. So if you gather up birth certificate, License to Carry, drivers license, membership card for a CMP gun club, some cash and drive to North Store I could come home with beauty like that?
