HR 875 - Could this be complete control over food, even what WE grow?

I haven't read the full text of the bill (still bleary eyed) but I have read some of the comments and blogs about it including the one from Ron Paul's campaign for liberty site.

If these people are correct in the criticisms this bill could give the government the power to stop ANY food they deem 'unsafe', including what you grow in your own garden, putting the power to control every piece of food we eat into the hands of a few corporations like Monsanto (the company that holds patents on genetically modified seed and has been attempting for years to control this market)

I think the gubmint should give us free food. It is afterall a necessity of life. What good is free health care if you die from starvation. We can tax the rich and nationalize the Shoprite, Wal-mart and Redner's stores, then when we need food, we just go get it. Think of all the money saved by not standing in the checkout lines.

Sounds like they are going to slowly implementing the regulations from "Codex Alimentarius", which is designed to hand over the control of natural remedies to the pharmaceutical giants, and all food must be irradiated. Monsanto will provide the genetically modified seeds.
