This idiot I feel is safe to ignore. Bugs Bunny has a better chance of being taken seriously.

Re: Kucinich, drafting a total handgun ban
It just came out that he carried a gun back in the '70's to protect himself from the Mafia. I thought I started a thread about this, but I guess it was deleted 'cuz I can't find it

Re: Kucinich, drafting a total handgun ban
OMG. First off: He this bill can't become reality. He wants to make a cabinet position? That is not Congress' job. The ability to appoint additional cabinet members rests with the President.
Second: This is the most BS filled bill I have ever seen. Most of what 808 is supposed to do, there are already other laws and agencies to do. Education and proposals to stop drug use....aka DEA and FBI, Department of Education.
This is just a sick attempt at spending more of our tax money on feel good programs that will not work. Especially since it would add another layer to the bureaucracy and bring us one step closer to becoming the United States of the EU.

Re: Kucinich, drafting a total handgun ban
Not me. Kucinich is adored by some of the left wing bottom-feeders in my apartment complex - they see him as an "ideal" American who understands the poor. They also view his type of nonsense as sense - to them this as the fastest way to a "safe" America. Don't be afraid of Kucinich - be afraid of his followers.
I think we would be wise to scream just as loud about this jackhole's bills as we did about HB 760.
Note to cas : the links to thomas.loc.gov didn't work...maybe missing some of the text in the HTML link?Last edited by OneLungMcClung; April 28th, 2007 at 10:34 PM.

Re: Kucinich, drafting a total handgun ban
Ah, Prohibition. It's been so successful everywhere else it's been tried.
EDIT: Oh my god, I love the way (per the Plain Dealer article,) Biden insists that although he had a firearm, it was a SHOTGUN, not a handgun! These -- pardon my language -- labia in the Democrat Party actually believe that the handgun is some sort of magic talisman of evil????
The shame of it is that Bill Richardson is probably the only Democrat right now that has a reasonable position on guns (and other issues). Of course, as a result, he'll never even come close to the nomination.Last edited by Johannes_Paulsen; April 29th, 2007 at 06:35 AM.

Re: Kucinich, drafting a total handgun ban
This is what I email to Dennis Kucinich:
What I understand regarding your HB 808 will not solve the problems that our society has today. I am not in your district but feel you couldn't be further from a solution, which is why I'm writing you. Most folks when solving difficult issues determine what the problem is. Your legislation as well as most other anti-gun legislation does nothing to prevent crime, or the unfortunae events that occured at Virgina Tech. I think it is more a social problem and that this is where determining the actual problem will lie and a correct solution will be found. I'm not saying there is only one probelm either, or even one hb solution.
In Pa I've written my reps and vistied them during a rally last April 24, expressing my oposition to several hb, including hb760. I've told them the same. Spending time determining the problem and then coming to a solution would be well spent in the long run for our entire society. Placing blame on one group or one tool would not solve the problem, but would redirect it. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact me.
Sincerly,
Roland

Re: Kucinich, drafting a total handgun ban
It just amazes me that our legislators have time to write up a POS Bill like this instead of focusing their time on bigger problems both Domestic and Foreign.
