Seems like a tripod mounted, bump firing device.

What do you guys make of this?

First thing I checked for what their BATFE approval letter, which apparently they do have. Seems like it could be fun but I'll stick to real ones

I'll say this...the ATF letter is very ambiguous, and by definition as shown the weapon its installed on is a machinegun due to the definition.

definitions is "more than one shot fired with each pull of the trigger without manually reloading."

note that the trigger is never actually pulled by the persons finger.
its a fine point of law, but its the legal technicalities that define the law.

the person pushes the paddle down, and the gun does the rest using the cycle of the action to bounce the gun back and forth...aka "bumpfiring".
the person never reactivates the trigger themselves, and the trigger is only touched by mechanical means.

this is more of a remote firing device.

personally, since I know the laws on what does and does not constitute a machinegun in the ATFs eyes...I am going to stay very far from this.

further, his design appears to violate a patent on an item that is not only legal and ATF approved, but about to go public for unlimited sale.

just my opinion, and I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I dont want a knock from the ATF on my door about it.

Seems like the ATF letter answers the question.

Funny that the ATF could not get it to work....

either way, since the ATF didn't get it workng, they gave it a classification for now.

I'll stay away from it, you all can do what you want.

At best whats going to happen here is a patent violation fight near as I can tell:-)
at worst, the ATF reclassifies it.

    we'll see.
