    Default 7.62x39 load data question

    I'm trying to get my rifle reloads down to the same powder. I can get IMR 4895 CHEAP. $14.50 /lb. I found load data for 123gr - 125gr bullets online, but it gets mixed reviews. I can't find it in any of my books, and I'd rather not try a load that came off a web site with no reference as to where it came from.

    Anybody have data for it in their book?

    I just looked in the IMR Powder manual and couldn't find any reference load for 7.62x39mm using IMR 4895. I also checked their online database and couldn't find a reference.

    Sorry.

    I just checked several different manuals and did find that Speer lists IMR 4895 for 123gr sp.

    Starting charge 27.0gr==2088fps.
    maximum charge 29.0gr==2198fps

    I always liked to verfy and cross reference with 2 or more manuals for safety sake but none of my others list IMR 4895 for 7.62x39

    Hmmm... That's the same data I found on the web. Your Speer book either confirms it, or just explains where they got their data from...

    Me too, but I think I'm gonna try it. I've been told that "H4895 is not the same as IMR 4895, but it's close". If this is true then 27.0-29.0gr of IMR should be good, because My books lists very similar data for the H4895.

    Thanks Rich!

    I use 25.0 grains of Accurate #1680.
    Works great with any 123/125 grain bullet in my CZ527
    Thanks.
