Smile Chromed M A S .22 long rifle. With Pics.

I just picked this up for my birthday, I have looked at this for 3 years sitting at a local shop.
It has been touched by a "mad scientist", It was completely taken apart, cleaned and polished and then chromed,,, Trigger and mag and almost all metal as well,,, A beautiful chrome job everywhere!
Not a pit or rust to be covered anywhere.
I believe that it's from the 50 ???s, It;s a french training rifle that went bling.
And since I am an avid .22 shooter I had to take it at the deep discount I got!
I do wonder though, I read that some had Mauser actions, Is this a Mauser action?

    Peter.
    Enough bling for you?

The French made this trainer after WWII. The MAS 45 is on my list. Supposedly it was built at a Mauser factory after the French took it over. Which makes sense since the bolt is definately Mauser. The chrome is purdy but it hurts my eyes.

I think you done good, I love chrome. It should be bullit proof
because it has one hell of a thick action on it. Looks
very soild. The action looks like it would be a 300 winmag.

I would say it's probably one hell of an accurate 22

Wow. That is actually really sharp. I thought to myself "A chromed rifle?! When will it end?" But that is really really neat.

Pred, I hate your guts. I've been looking at that rifle for three years in Quinby's. I was there when you bought it, looking at it and fondling it YET AGAIN not five minutes before you walked upstairs, picked it off the rack, and bought it out from under me. I hate you, hate you, hate you.

Let us know how it shoots. That thing is beautiful, good buy, and congrats!

Thumbs up Re: Chromed M A S .22 long rifle. With Pics.

Sweet modification, Looks great. This was my 1st gun (Thanks Dad!) in '92 after a few more had been discovered. Used it many years in 4-H shooting sports, and for firearms safety training. Super accurate, peep sight took a little learning curve, and heavy, but built as solid as my .223 . Cool history behind these M A S .22s .
