    Default AR 15 Mag Problem

    Well i have a Stag AR 15 lower that I got new and it seems no mater what mag i use they do not drop free when i push the button i have to pull them out. I have just tried working it in a little but dose not seem to help everything feeds grate they just do not drop free is there something i can do to fix this short of sending it off to Stag?

    If it's happening with multiple known good magazines it sounds like an out of spec magwell. If you have PMAGS I believe there was an issue with M&P lowers where you were able to sand down a point on the mag rather than send out the lower.

    Try backing off the mag release catch a turn or two and see if that helps.

    Yea it happens will all 10 of my PMags all bought at different times and different locations

    and the GI mag i have,

    How would I do this?

    And if it is the lower do you think Stag will take care of that?

    Push the mag release button in until the catch (on the opposite dide) clears the BHO, then rotate the catch.

    Try the gun with USGI aluminum mags; if you still have the problem, call Stag. If it's only with the Pmag's you are likely SOL.

    No i have a few USGI aluminum mags and it dose the same thing.

    I shot a forum member's Stag lower and noticed it had a tight magwell. I don't think his was a problem, though. It was also a really nice rifle.

    I think he means after u play w/ the mag release and get USGI mags working. Since both are having problems i'd agree it's probably your magcatch, which is a 20second fix.
