Mosin Nagant recoil Comparison

Going out to fire the new mosin nagant today. Just wanted to get an idea as to what to expect for recoil. Have heard mixed opinions. I shoot 3" sabot in m 12 gauge shotty for hunting. Will it be comparable or worse than that?

Its pretty awesome recoil, but don't fret...if lil'buck can handle it, so can you.

Most felt recoil of any rifle/shotgun load that I've fired so far. 7.62x54r is a big bad round.

the rifle is heavy enough so that its not that bad... BUT to get an idea take the recoil pad off your 12 ga and shoot a 2.75 inch slug out of it.

So if im shooting 3" sabots through my 12 gauge this wont be anything close to it?

It really depends on the round you are firing. Using heavy ball it kicks like a bear with light ball it's tolerable.... but it's no where near as bad as an M44.

I have a 90/31, the big long heavy one. The recoil isn't that bad to me. I think my light 30.06 hunting rifle kicks a lot worse. It is more than an AR or an AK.

Ya I think they make a big deal about the 91/30. It really wasn't that bad. Just like a shotgun.

I'd say it's like a 30.06 but less because of the weight. Go ahead and give it a try. After the first shot your hooked! After maybe ten shots you tend to get beat up.
