I talked to the promoter and he assured me that there has been A LOT going on behind the scene over the past few month and said quite a few problems from the last show (especialy parking) has been straightened out. Now if they just move that friggin light pole before the next show

Is it ok to walk around with a rifle or two to sell at this show?

I have a brand new wasr-10 and a brand new bulgarian ssr-85c i'm looking to get rid of. I figure a gunshow would be a good place to do it.

Yes it is, you will see quite a few people walking around with guns to sell.

This is one question that gets asked about every show. The simple answer is that the promoters insurance WILL NOT allow loaded firearms in the show.

If you OC then you will be asked to clear or have cleared for you and a nice white wiretie will be run down the barrel to secure your firearm.

If you CC and when asked if you are carrying any firearms you admit it then the same thing happens.

Lets face it here guys/gals gun shows attract MANY people, especialy shows the size of Split Rock. There are MANY responsable people out there that carry guns BUT there are also some that still don't understand the basic rules of safe firearm handling. It's the second class of people that worry me. It is also those people that give the ins. company's the reason to have ALL weopons cleared.

So I guess the decission is totaly up to you if you wish to OC/CC then by all means do so. If you wish to carry loaded into the show then remember there could be some jackass down the isle from you that has NO CLUE how to safely handle a loaded weopon and is doing the same thing.

in my not so humble point of view, the best thing to do is clear your own weopon outside the show and let the bald guy at the door wiretie it, that way we all get to go home at night. I would NEVER suggest leaving a firearm in your vehicle while browsing at a show!!

i always looked at it as if they dont want loaded firearms i can deal with that and stick to their rules to ensure they keep on putting on these shows for as long as they possibly can. but that is my viewpoint i just feel lucky that i can walk aisles full of guns gear and ammo and be happy that we as americans can still buy and own these items
